
*** Machine PCL6 Driver Installation

The Machine Printer Model has a parallel port,
which can be used to connect to your PC for printing.

The Machine PCL6 Driver can be interfaced as a 300 x 300 d.p.i. printer
and 600 x 600 d.p.i printer for Microsoft Windows via the accompanying
print driver on this diskette.

To install the Machine PCL6 Driver, you must first connect it to your PC.
You then install the print driver into your Microsoft Windows System.

Hardware Installation:
1. Shut down your computer.
2. Turn off the Machine.
3. For Parallel connection: Obtain a good quality Parallel
   Printer cable. Connect it between the "Centronics" port
   on the side of the Machine and the parallel printer port
   on your PC.
4. Turn on your Machine.
5. Turn on your PC and start Windows.

---------------------------------------------------------------

1  Click the "Start" Button on the taskbar, point to "Settings"
   , click "Printers" to open the Printers folder, then choose
   the "Add Printer" icon in the Printers folder to open the
   Add Printer Wizard.

2  On the Add Printer Wizard that appears. Click "Next", choose
   "Local Printer", and click "Next" again.

3  A list of Printers will appear along with a "Have Disk..."
   button to the right. Click the "Have Disk..." button.

4  A dialog box appears, instructing you to insert the
   manufacturer's installation disk. Insert the program disk.
   Click the "Browse" button, select the folder "\Win98" that
   contains the file "Machine.inf" on the program disk. Click
   the "OK" button.

5  Click the "OK" button. The Add Printer Wizard then lists a
   Machine PCL6 Driver.

6  Select the printer you want and click "Next".

7  From the list of available ports, select the parallel port
   to which you have connected the print device.

8  Click "Next" to continue following the instructions provided
   by the Add Printer Wizard. This Wizard will copy all the
   necessary files to your hard drive and load the new printer
   driver.

   and click "Next".

   manufacturer's installation disk. Insert the program disk.

   contains the file "Machine.inf" on the program disk. Click
   the "Open" button.

6  Click the "OK" button. The Add Printer Wizard then lists a
   Machine PCL6 Driver.

7  Select the printer you want and click "Next".

8  Click "Next" to continue following the instructions provided
   by the Add Printer Wizard. This Wizard will copy all the
   necessary files to your hard drive and load the new printer
   driver.

1  Click the "Start" Button on the taskbar, point to "Settings"
   , click "Printers and Faxes" to open the Printers and Faxes
   folder, then choose the "Add Printer" icon in the Printers
   Tasks folder to open the Add Printer Wizard.

2  On the Add Printer Wizard that appears. Click "Next", choose
   "Local printer attached to this computer".

3  From the list of available ports, select the parallel port
   to which you have connected the print device, and click "Next".

4  A list of Printers will appear along with a "Have Disk..."
   button to the right. Click the "Have Disk..." button.

5  A dialog box appears, instructing you to insert the
   manufacturer's installation disk. Insert the program disk.
   Click the "Browse" button, select the folder "\WinNT-2000-XP" that
   contains the file "Machine.inf" on the program disk. Click
   the "Open" button.

6  Click the "OK" button. The Add Printer Wizard then lists a
   Machine PCL6 Driver.

7  Select the printer you want and click "Next".

8  Click "Next" to continue following the instructions provided
   by the Add Printer Wizard. This Wizard will copy all the
   necessary files to your hard drive and load the new printer
   driver.

CAUTION!

  Unsuitable cancel or delete a print job on PC or printer may damage
next print job(s) in queue. If that happens, restart both printer and PC
then send your print job(s) again. Be more careful when you cancel or
delete a print job(s).

  When paper tray gets empty or communication error between PC and
printer, there is a warning dialog box will appear on PC ask you to
retry or cancel current print job. In rarely case, click retry will
cause unpredictable print out. If that happens, restart both printer
and PC then send your print job(s) again.

